Paper House Productions|Xyron Collaboration

Hello friends! I hope your all having a great day. I am very excited to be participating in this fun hop with PaperHouse Productions and Xyron. Both are amazing companies. I used the Xyron Tape Runner throughout my layout to adhere all of my paper.

IMG_7733

Our theme for this hop is Family. I decided to scrap a couple of photos of my two boys and their cousins. They came over one night and were all playing Scrabble. The game didn’t last very long, lol. They started arguing about which words were considered words and which weren’t. I decided to break up the argument with a silly photo shoot.

IMG_7732

I chose to use the Paper House Productions One Big Happy Family Collection. This collection is  perfect for capturing these moments. The colors really lend themselves to masculine or feminine layouts.

I kept my design pretty simple. I cut out big arrows which would point to my photos. I added some faux stitching with a white gel pen. I also added some simple layers behind my two photos.

I decided to place my tittle in the center of the page. I used a patterned paper strip that matched my wood grain background. I placed it going the opposite direction of the wood grain in the background. I used a combination of white letter stickers from the Discover USA Papercrafting kit and blue letter stickers from the Let Freedon Ring Washington DC Papercrafting Kit.

I then used my sewing machine and some orange thread and did a zig zag stitch through the whole tittle. I added some flower stickers to both ends and raised the whole piece up on dimentional foam. I also added some stitching at the top and bottom of the layout.

I could not wait to use my Xyron sticker maker, I punched out some circles to create banners underneath my tittle and bottom photo and I ran them all through the Xyron sticker maker. I love making my own stickers.

This layout was fun to create. Be sure to check out Paper House Productions and  Xyron for fun giveaways this week.

Thanks so much for stopping by! XOXO -Katty

Paper House Productions|Scrapbook Adhesives Hop

Hello friends! Today I have a special project to share with you. The Paper House Productions Design Team has teamed up with Scrapbook Adhesives for a fun collaboration. We are creating Travel Themed Projects. We received a bunch of awesome goodies from Scrapbook Adhesives to use.

I am scrapbooking a photo of my family and I on a road trip. We were driving from The Grand Canyon to Phoenix, AZ where were catching a flight to Utah. We were so squished inside our rental car with all of our luggage. We were laughing about it the whole way there, the ones in the back, however, weren’t laughing too much. Want to hear something else that was funny, we missed our flight, Lol. It wasn’t so funny at time but looking back now, we crack up about it. Thankfully, we were put on Stand-by and were able to catch the next flight a few hours later.

I decided to use the Discover USA Papercrafting Kit for this layout. I love the fun bright colors of this collection and the USA travel theme is perfect for this photo. I used the E-Z Runner Permanent Strips  to adhere everything that wasn’t a sticker. I also used the 3D Foam Squares to add dimension to some of the stickers.

00000000000FullSizeRender

I used all embellishments from the Discover USA Collection including the Discover USA Puffy Stickers that are included in the Papercrafting Kit as well as the Discover USA 3D Stickers. The only thing I added in from my stash was some green washi tape which I added underneath my tittle on both sides. I created a vertical design down the center of the page.

000000000FullSizeRender

To add a few extra details I used the Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Hearts and added glitter in coordinating colors to them. These made the perfect embellishment to fill in a few areas on my page.

I loved working with this collection and using all of the awesome Scrapbook Adhesives goodies. I love how my layout turned out. Be sure to check out both the Paper House Productions Blog and the Scrapbook Adhesives Blog for fun giveaways going on this week.

My Creative Scrapbook- March 2017

00fullsizerender

Hello friends! I am back to share the layouts I created with the March 2017 Main Kit. This kit featured the Jen Hadfield Simple Life Collection as well as some other fun goodies. This collection was filled with beautiful florals and this kit was so fun to work with.

IMG_5780

The first three layouts I created with the kit were all masculine ones. This kit really lent itself to both masculine and feminine color schemes. For my first layout, I followed the exclusive sketch that My Creative Sketches provides each month. They also provide Cut files every month for our kit Subscribers. There is a Video Tutorial on my channel for this one if you’d like to watch.

The second layout was also a masculine one. I played with a little mixed media and a lot of the ephemera.

MCS-Katty-Main Kit-LO2

For the third layout, I wanted to play with the stencil that was included in the kit. I also added the beautiful lace that came in the kit. Even with the lace I kept the color scheme very masculine. These colors and ephemera pieces were the perfect embellishments for this small photo of my father.

MCS-Katty-Main Kit-LO3

By the fourth layout, I was ready to use the beautiful pinks and florals included in this kit. I love the combination of this fun hexagon wood grain and the pink polka dot paper.

MCS-Katty-Main Kit-LO4

Of course I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to fussy cut these beautiful flowers from one of the patterned papers. I also used the stencil and stamp set that was included in the kit to create this fun layout.

MCS-Katty-Main Kit-LO5

This was such a fun kit to work with. I only wish I had more time to create more layouts with it but I will definitely put all of the leftover goodies to good use on future projects.

My Creative Scrapbook- February 2017

00fullsizerender

Hello friends! Welcome back! I am very excited to have been asked to join the My Creative Scrapbook Design Team. In February 2017, I was technically a Guest Designer, however, I was asked to stay on the team. The February Main Kit was absolutely beautiful. I really enjoyed working with it. It featured the Simple Stories Posh Collection, which is one of my favorite collections of all time and the Hazelwood One Canoe Two Collection.

000fullsizerender

I was able to create 6 layouts with the kit. I’m sure I can still create at least three more. There were so many fun papers and embellishments included in the kit.

For my first layout, I used the exclusive cut files available to Kit Subscribers. There is a Video Tutorial on my channel for this layout, Click here to watch it.

img_5323-1

My second layout was a lot of fun to create. I used some mixed media, which is something I love to incorporate in my layouts. I love the way this one turned out. There is also a Video Tutorial on my channel for this one. Click here to watch.

img_5220

I had this adorable picture of my nephew to scrap. I pulled all of the Blues and greens in the kit and created this layout. I also followed the exclusive sketch available to Kit Subscribers. To watch my Video Tutorial for this one, click here.

One of my favorite things to do is fussy cut. Any time I have beautiful florals or small images on a patterned paper, I love to cut them out and create my own design with them. These butterflies and florals from the Hazelwood Patterned Papers were perfect  for this picture of my cat, Pyramid in our yard. There is a video for this one as well. Click here to watch.

img_5537

I fell in love with this colorful patterned paper from the Hazelwood Collection. I love it paired with the diagonal stripe black and white border. I fussy cut the florals fro one of the patterned papers and the feathers are from the exclusive cut files as well.

mcs-katty-miranda-main-kit-lo4

Lastly, I had some fun cutting out different size frames and layering them for this layout. It came together very quickly and I love how it turned out.

This was a fun kit to create with. I hope you’ll check out My Creative Scrapbook. They have four different monthly kits available.
