Katty- You are here 🙂

For today’s project I created a 12X12 layout. I began with Jen’s beautiful Scribble Floral Background. I used my silhouette cameo to cut it out. I then took my inexpensive Michaels watercolors and painted the flowers in the pink and purple tones. I colored the leaves in two green tones. As that was drying, I grabbed a 12×12 white sheet of cardstock. I used an Americana stencil with tiny hexagons on it and my new favorite Shimmerz Dazzlers in Lemon Drop from the Spiegelmom Scraps Shop. I created a simple background for my beautiful floral cut file to sit on. I then chose a picture of my adorable niece when she was one month old. I used a piece of patterned paper from the Crate Paper Notes & Things 6×6 paper  pad and used that as a simple mat my for my photo. I nestled the photo into the cut file on the lower left hand side.

I scattered some of the beautiful Spiegelmom Scraps Pink Lagoon Sequins in the center of some of the cut file flowers. I used American Crafts Dazzle Cork Thickers for my tittle. as a finishing touch I used Jen’s super cute Flowers and Flutters Cut File. I used two of the adorable butterflies and I painted them with Heidi Swapp color shine in Butter. On top of the bigger butterflies I layered the Flutter Cork Butterflies from the Spiegelmom Scraps Shop. I also backed them with some purple cardstock.

Sketch N Scrap Throwback Thursday

Hello friends! This week I am hosting the Throwback Thursday Sketch Challenge over on the Sketch N Scrap Blog as we continue to celebrate our 100th Sketch with weekly challenges . I chose this sketch #63 by Kelly Holifield. It’s from August 2014.

This is a great sketch! This sketch is from way before I joined the team so it was a lot of fun to be able to use it. I decided to scrap 3 pictures of me and my boys from a Disney Cruise we went on a few years ago, this was our very first cruise so it was an important one. I am almost done scrapping this trip so it was great to get a few more pictures on a page.

I decided to use papers from the Crate Paper DIY Shop and embellishments from the Simple Stories Say Cheese Collection. I did mat my photos and the majority of the patterned papers on black cardstock. The two collections went together beautifully.

This is an awesome sketch and I hope you will come join us over at the Sketch N Scrap Blog and play along with the awesome sketches we have this month. There will be a winner chosen at the end of the month. You can’t win if you don’t play along. Here is my finished layout.

Thanks for spending some time with me today. XOXO- Katty

Sketch N Scrap DT Sketch #101

Hello friends! I am back with a DT layout for the Sketch N Scrap Blog. This month is extra special over at Sketch N Scrap. We are celebrating our 100th sketch this month and we will have sketch challenges every Thursday as well as the regular monthly sketch challenges.  Today I am following Sketch #101 by Kelly Holifield. This was such a fun sketch to follow. I decided to use the Maggie  Holmes Shine Collection for this whole layout. I am scrapbooking three pictures of my adorable niece who decided to act silly one night while I was visiting. She is too cute! The layers in the back as well as my photos were all matted with dark grey cardstock to make them pop.

For my tittle I used some glitter word stickers from Glitz and finished it off with some Basic Grey Enamel Dots. I really love how this layout turned out.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Make sure you check out Sketch N Scrap for fun sketch challenges every month. There is a prize that you can be entered to win every month just by playing along.

Sketch N Scrap DT Card Sketch#69

Hello friends. This months Card Sketch is Sketch #69 by Kelly Holifield.

I love the this card sketch. I love how there’s room for a longer Sentiment. I decided to use paper from the Crate Paper Hello Love paper pad to create my layers. I backed all my layers with dark grey Recollections cardstock from Michaels. I also used a white doily from my stash.

For my sentiment I used a Hero Arts Stamp set # CL810 called Chalkboard Style Messages.

I stamped one part of the sentiment directly on the patterned paper and the other part on a piece of velum paper. I then finished it of with some black Basic Grey Enamel Dots in various sizes. This card was a lot of fun to put together.

Make sure you join us on the Sketch N Scrap Blog for tons of inspiration and fun sketches every month.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day! XOXO -Katty

Katty  You are here! 🙂

For today’s blog hop you should have arrived here from ___Ka___ .  Ka’s style is so inspiring to me. She is truly very talented.

For today’s project I created a fun 12×12 Layout inspired by this months mood board on a Facebook Group my friend Evi And I created The Pretty Patterned Paper Playground.

I was able to use so many fun products from the Spiegelmom Scraps Shop on this layout! I began by using my Michaels watercolors to add some color the Mini Wood Clothespins from the shop. My idea was to create 3 big flowers using the clothespins. I did lay them on their side so that they’d be a bit less dimensional. I used a dark pink, coral and orange color. I picked the colors based on some of the sequin mixes from the shop. My next step was to take 3 White Lace Paper Doilies. I used the doilies as a stencil and used my watercolors over them to create a pretty doily pattern in the three colors I chose. I then placed the clothespins over the doily pattern and adhered them with glue dots. I wanted to add some sparkle with some lovely sequins from the Spiegelmom Scraps Shop. On the Orange “flower” I used the Indian Summer Sequins. On the dark pink “flower” I used the Fairytale 2 Sequins and on the Coral one I used the Peachy Sherbet Sequins. In the center of all my “flowers” I added 5 yellow sequins from the Believe in You Sequins and in the very center a grey sequin from the Mint Chip Sequins. I then added some leaves with a Heidi Swapp Stencil and the awesome Shimmerz Dazzlerz in Sour Apple.

To finish it off I added a few simple embellishments. I added one of the White Lace Paper Doilies that I had previously colored. I also added three of the Cork Chevrons and a “Beautiful” Wood veneer rectangle from the Shimelle True Stories Wood Veneer. To complete my tittle I used some gold Maggie Holmes typewriter font alphas and sprinkled some Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine. I used 2 sheets of patterned paper from the Heidi Swapp Hello Today paper pad. A yellow polka dot to mat my photo and a diagonal rainbow strip to add a border to my whole page.

It is always such fun to play with the Spiegelmom Scraps Shop products. Here is my finished layout.

Sketch N Scrap DT Sketch #100

Hello friends! It’s an exciting month over on the Sketch N Scrap Blog. We are celebrating the 100th layout sketch. This wonderful sketch is by Lisa Hidy.12694532_10206069504321534_6716212004990113638_o

I absolutely love that this sketch calls for 3 photos. You could even use 2 4×6 photos if you don’t have 3. I decided to use these 3 photos of my boyfriend and I. We celebrated my 30th birthday this past November on three occasions. Each picture was taken at a different event and location. I decided to use The Maggie Holmes Styleboard Collection for this layout. I love the colors in this collection and had a lot of fun layering all of the fun patterns in this collection. I fussy cut the flowers from the blue patterned paper and the yellow circles were punched out with a circle punch from a sheet in the collection as well.

For my tittle I used Dear Lizzy Snapshots Thickers and Gold thin Thickers. I used the Amy Tangerine Memento thickers add the “30” in the top cluster.  I finished it off with some black Basic Grey enamel dots.

This was such a fun Sketch to follow. I truly love how my layout turned out!

I hope you’ll join us on the Sketch N Scrap Blog for special events happening in the month of March! If you play along you’ll be entered to win a fun prize.

Thanks so much for stopping by! XOXO -Katty
