I created a 12×12 layout. For this hop we are following this fun sketch.
img_4311
I began with a Cream and white Patterned paper from Elle’s Studio. I used three photos just as the sketch calls for. I used a sequence of photos of my two boys enjoying fake snowfall at a local mall this past December.

I layered a few different patterned papers from my stash in red and blue shades. I used the Free Snowflake Cutfile from Spiegelmom Scraps and cut out a bunch of snowflakes on White American Crafts Textured Cardstock. I layered the beautiful flair badges over the bigger snowflakes and sequins from the Classic Cozy Mix over the smaller ones.

I created a long tittle using a mix of Amy Tangerine, Heidi Swapp and Fitzgerald Thickers. I added a few small embellishments around my tittle and a teal polka dot washi tape as finishing touches.

This was a fun layout to create. I really enjoyed working with the Cuts2Luv products.

Hello friends! I am extremely excited to share my first spread in my December Daily Album. The first three days of the month were pretty uneventful so I was able to combine the three day in a two page spread. I am planning on doing this throughout my album to avoid it getting too chunky. I’ve decided to work mainly with the American Crafts Good Tidings collection. If you’d like to read more about the products I’ve used check out my Blog Post  over on the Spiegelmom Scraps Blog.img_3635-1

I wanted to use one of the awesome free cut files this month. I chose the one with the lovely snowflakes on it.

I used my Silhouette Cameo and cut out all of the snowflakes on American Crafts White textured cardstock. I decided to use the cut outs as well as the negative space. They were both so pretty. I ripped up the page diagonally and added another White Cardstock behind it. I used pieces of the White Lace Paper Doilies where the edges met.

I added a blue piece of Patterned Paper, which I think may have been from an old MME paper pad and placed it behind the open snow flakes. I used the Shimmerz Oh say Can U Sea Coloringz and colored some of the snowflakes with a brush.I added the same blue patterned paper to the centers.

I did some simple layers behind my photo and added strips of a fuchsia Heidi Swapp Patterned Paper to the right and bottom of the layout.

I then used the beautiful new Amore Sequin mix and added them to the snowflakes. I added a simple tittle using American Crafts Elm Thickers and a few  simple embellishments from my stash.

This was fun to create. I love the snowflake cut file.

I am scrapbooking a photo of my boyfriend and I last winter on a trip we took to Utah with our family. I love this photo, the mountains behind us are beautiful. For my layout today I began with White American Crafts Textured Cardstock as my background. I used another sheet of the to cut out two snowflakes on my Silhouette Cameo. I colored the snowflakes with a combination two of my favorite Shimmerz Mists. I used Heidi Ho Blue and Blue Jeans.
fullsizerender-24
I then added a few layers of patterned paper behind my photo. I used a 6×6 Heidi Swapp Paper Pad. I scattered around sequins from the Classic Cozy sequin mix as well as some Cork Stars which I layered with the silver stars from the Holly Berries sequin mix.
fullsizerender-30
I also used the Aqua Heart Felties above and under my photo. I used American Crafts Silver glitter thickers in the Cecily font to write out my tittle as well as some aqua glitter tape underneath my tittle.

Sketch N Scrap DT Card#65

IMG_3658

Hello friends, I am very excited to announce that in 2016 I will continue  as a part of the Sketch N Scrap Blog Design Team. Sketch N Scrap is a Sketch Blog that provides monthly card and layout sketches free of charge. They even host a monthly challenge, any one that plays along with our sketches and links their project to the blog is entered to win a fun prize. There is one winner per month. My first project for this term is Card Sketch# 65 by Kelly Holifield. This sketch is absolutely adorable. Being from Florida I don’t get to use my Winter themed stickers all that often so this card was perfect to use up an adorable Snowman and Snowflakes from a Sticko Christmas Sticker pack and pretty silver Snowflake Paper which I’ve had in my stash for quite some time. I stamped the Believe Sentiment on two layers of velum which I then snipped the edges of and made into a banner. This card was a lot of fun to make. I hope you will all join us and play along with this months sketches. Be sure to also visit & follow the Sketch N Scrap Facebook Group for up to date information, inspiration and fun sketches. Thanks for stopping by. XOXO -Katty

Obsessed with Katty & Christy: Season 2 Week 1

Maggie HolmesbloggggIf you follow my You Tube Channel you may have previously seen my friend Christy & I’s  “Obsessed with Katty & Christy” series. Our first series aired in Fall 2015. We are both huge fans of Maggie Holmes so for our first series we featured the Maggie Holmes Open Book Collection, one of our favorite collections of all time. Every other week we’d create a layout with specific sheets of paper from that collection and we’d have a challenge to follow as well. This year our series has returned and this time we are using the Maggie Holmes Shine Collection. Our first episode aired today, Wednesday, January 6, 2016. Christy & I each have a video up on our You Tube channel. My video can be found on my Channel: Katty Miranda. Christy’s video can be found on her Channel: Christy’s Beautiful Life. For this layout I chose a photo taken this past Christmas day of me and my two boys. The picture was taken Near Park City, Utah which is where we stayed during our Vacation. Besides the four sheets of paper that we had to use on this layout our challenge was to follow a sketch and incorporate wood veneer. The sketch is from the Sketch N Scrap Blog which I am a Design Team Member of. On my layout I also added a few other papers from the same collection as well as those lovely colorful thickers from the chipboard sheet. The white chipboard letter thickers are also from the Shine Collection.  Thanks for stopping by. XOXO -Katty
