Rachel Stewart-
Katty Miranda——You are here

For my layout  I began with American Crafts White Textured Cardstock . I used a Teresa Collins triangle stencil with some Acrylic Gloss Medium. This created a subtle embossed look on my cardstock. I flipped the stencil around and placed the stencil over the Gloss medium background. I made sure to place it over the areas where there were no triangles. I used three of my favorite Shimmerz DazzlerzDreamscicleTutti Frutti and Sea U in the Mornin.

I then printed a series of 3 photos of my adorable niece and cut them into triangle shapes. I backed my photos with some mint colored scotch washi tape which I placed on white cardstock as well as a gray and white patterned paper from an old Studio Calico Paper Pad.

FullSizeRender (76)

I added a few embelishments from my stash mainly from the My Minds Eye on Trend Collection. Some of the triangle pieces of ephemera I made into shaker triangles using the new beautiful Mocha Mint Dream Sequins.

FullSizeRender (78)

I also used some ephemera words from the same collection for my tittle. I just added the die cut words to some velum and traced them with a black sharpie pen. I also added a tag from my stash behind it. I added some tangled mint thread in three areas and I finished off my layout with the new thin Chunky Cork Stars and the Chunky Cork Hearts, to half of the hearts I added Gold Stardust Sequins.

For my layout I began with 12×12 American Crafts White Textured Cardstock. I am scrapbooking a photo of my adorable niece being her silly self. I had a thought of an all white layout. I began by creating a fun unique background with a stencil and Gloss Medium. While the gloss medium was wet I sprinkled some of the beautiful Glass Slippers Sequins on top and let them dry with the gloss medium.

FullSizeRender (60)

As a photo mat I used one of the White Lace Paper Doilies and a Large Glassine Bag which I folded on one end so create some texture. I decided to bring some grey, silver and light pink into the mix.

FullSizeRender (61)

I added a few sticker embellishments from my stash which I placed on some fun foam and then fussy cut out. I also scattered around some of the Felt-Fetti Hearts in white and two of the new colors, light and dark grey.

I also added the silver stars from the Alma Mater Sequin Mix and the light Pink ones from the Mocha Mint Dream Sequin Mix. I added my tittle using  a silver word from a Thickers pack and I also used some of the silver arrows and hearts from that pack.

FullSizeRender (62)

I added some silver ink splatters and some detailing with a dark grey American Crafts pen. Finally, I matted the whole layout on a Grey and white Patterned Paper from the Pink Paislee Bella Rouge paper pad.

For my layout, I began with American Crafts White Textured Cardstock. I used a Teresa Collins diagonal stripe stencil with the Sea U in the Morning Shimmerz Dazzlerz. I am using patterned papers from the Fancy Pants Attwell Collection. I used a few different patterns with the awesome heart cut file created by our very own Khristina Sorge last month. I placed the cut hearts over the stenciled diagonal striped and I used one of the diagonal black and white patterned papers from the collection to mat the whole layout.

Sara Scraps –

For my project I created a 12×12 layout. I began with white cardstock and some of my Dylusions paints. I created blocks of color using the colors London Blue, Vibrant Turquoise and Fresh Lime. I also used a Prima checkerboard stencil with the Shimmerz Dazzlerz in Sea U in the Mornin over each of the color blocks. I then trimmed off about 1/2 an inch from each side and matted my whole layout with a 12×12 black and white patterned paper called Elsie from the Maggie Holmes Bloom Collection. I used a sample paint chip which I got at my local home depot which has several shades of turquoise and used that to mat my photo along with some dark grey cardstock. I then took the fun Cloudy Day Felties and colored some with the Dylusions London Blue and some with the Shimmerz Dazzlerz in Sea U in the Mornin. I added those to the top right hand side of the layout.

For my tittle I used a mix of the black Pinkfresh Studio Felicity foam thickers and the mini October afternoon letter stickers from the Land and Sea and the Sea and Sails collections.

I added a couple of black chipboard stickers from MAMBI to the bottom right of my photo. My goal for the next few months is to use up my wood veneer. I picked out three Bycicles and 2 potty people from Studio Calico and painted them using the Dylusions paint in Vibrant turquoise and Fresh Lime. I also added an Arrow and painted that with London Blue.

As a finishing touch I used black india ink to crate splatters in two areas of the layout and added some Basic Grey enamel dots as well as some of the blue sequins from Rasberry Daisy Dream Sequin Mix. This was a lot of fun to create.

Katty  —–You are here. 🙂

For today’s layout I created a 12×12 shaker layout. I am scrapbooking a photo of my boyfriend and I on a mini weekend anniversary getaway.I was inspired by the new Raspberry Daisy Dream sequin mix. I matched it with a floral patterned paper by Heidi Swapp. I fussy cut out the flowers from the paper. I used a stencil by The Crafters workshop called Chevron Tiles and I used my Shimmerz Dazzlers in Pucker up Pink.

I then used my craft knife to cut out three additional chevrons and created shaker pockets with my sequin mix behind them.

I used the 6×6 paper pad from the same Heidi Swapp collection and cut out some circles which I scattered around the page.

I also scattered some of the same sequin mix around the page. I used some black fabric Thickers called doll to create my tittle.

I finished it off with some black india ink splatters. I love how it turned out.

Sketch N Scrap Layout Sketch #107

Hello friends. I am back with another layout for the Sketch N Scrap Design Team. This week I am following Layout Sketch #107 by Mandy Reedyk.

I decided to scrap 3 recent photos from my older sons 5th grade graduation. I used several patterned papers all from the Jen Hadfield Home Made Collection. Even the Congratulations Banners are from a cut apart sheet from that collection. I layered a few of the papers similar to the sketch and matted my photos on black cardstock and then on some of the polka dot patterned papers. I popped up the center photo on foam tape.

I used a pack of foam stars from Horizon and painted some of them with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Mint and Cherry. As a finishing touch I added some white paint splatter with Dylusions in White Linen.

Sadly, my term with the Sketch N Scrap Design Team will end this month. It has been so amazing to be a part of this wonderful team. It has truly been an honor to be a part of this talented, supportive and sweet team. I know I will continue to follow Sketch N Scrap sketches.

Thanks so much for stopping by. XOXO -Katty

Sketch N Scrap Layout Sketch #105

Hello friends. I am back with a Sketch N Scrap Design Team layout. This months awesome sketch it by Kelly Holifield. I chose to Scrapbook two photos of my two kitties. They love to get into trouble. On this day they climbed up on a big tool shed that we have in the yard. They had such a hard time getting down. That is why I chose to tittle my layout Mischievous. They love getting into trouble.

12733378_681692068640150_4001889351054117426_n (1)

I began with several patterned paper from the Dear Lizzy Documentary Collection. I am trying to kill this collection. The sketch calls for three vertical patterned paper strips in the back. I used four and even added a branding strip to the right. I matted my two photos on black and teal cardstock from my stash. To recreate those big flowers I used a Heidi Swapp Flower Stencil and some Heidi Swapp art screen ink in White. I also added a fuchsia sequin to the center of each flower. The sequins are from the Fairy tale Mix from Spiegelmom Scraps. I also punched out two Monarch butterflies with a Martha Stewart punch.

For my tittle area I used a piece of patterned paper from the same collection and added my tittle using some fuchsia letter stickers from Colorbok.

I am scrapbooking 2 photos( part of my challenge) of my adorable neice. I began with White Cardstock and an Americana Stencil called Segmented Swirls. I used some of the lovely Shimmerz products I get from the Spiegelmom Scraps Shop. I used the Shimmerz  Dazzlers in Coral me CrazyDreamscicle and Tutti Frutti with the Americana stencil. That was my bit of mixed media. I love how that turned out. I then layered a beautiful floral sheet of patterned paper from the KaiserCraft Finders Keepers  paper pad. I also pulled a few cut aparts from the paper pad. I layered a  6″ Gold Foil Doily  as well as a White Lace Paper Doily all behind my photo. For the wood veneer I grabbed large wood veneer letters to spell out my neices name and painted them with the Dreamscicle shimmerz and some orange Dylusions spray mist from my stash. I also pulled a circle with a heart wood veneer from the Shimelle True Stories wood veneer.
As a finishing touch I sprinkled some sequins from the Indian Summer Sequins. I also layered the Indian Summer SequinsPeachy Sherbet and the Gold Stardust Sequins and spread those around, mainly on my tittle.
