Sketch N Scrap DT Sketch #101

Hello friends! I am back with a DT layout for the Sketch N Scrap Blog. This month is extra special over at Sketch N Scrap. We are celebrating our 100th sketch this month and we will have sketch challenges every Thursday as well as the regular monthly sketch challenges.  Today I am following Sketch #101 by Kelly Holifield. This was such a fun sketch to follow. I decided to use the Maggie  Holmes Shine Collection for this whole layout. I am scrapbooking three pictures of my adorable niece who decided to act silly one night while I was visiting. She is too cute! The layers in the back as well as my photos were all matted with dark grey cardstock to make them pop.

For my tittle I used some glitter word stickers from Glitz and finished it off with some Basic Grey Enamel Dots. I really love how this layout turned out.

Sketch N Scrap DT Card Sketch#69

Hello friends. This months Card Sketch is Sketch #69 by Kelly Holifield.

I love the this card sketch. I love how there’s room for a longer Sentiment. I decided to use paper from the Crate Paper Hello Love paper pad to create my layers. I backed all my layers with dark grey Recollections cardstock from Michaels. I also used a white doily from my stash.

For my sentiment I used a Hero Arts Stamp set # CL810 called Chalkboard Style Messages.

I stamped one part of the sentiment directly on the patterned paper and the other part on a piece of velum paper. I then finished it of with some black Basic Grey Enamel Dots in various sizes. This card was a lot of fun to put together.

Sketch N Scrap DT Sketch #100

Hello friends! It’s an exciting month over on the Sketch N Scrap Blog. We are celebrating the 100th layout sketch. This wonderful sketch is by Lisa Hidy.12694532_10206069504321534_6716212004990113638_o

I absolutely love that this sketch calls for 3 photos. You could even use 2 4×6 photos if you don’t have 3. I decided to use these 3 photos of my boyfriend and I. We celebrated my 30th birthday this past November on three occasions. Each picture was taken at a different event and location. I decided to use The Maggie Holmes Styleboard Collection for this layout. I love the colors in this collection and had a lot of fun layering all of the fun patterns in this collection. I fussy cut the flowers from the blue patterned paper and the yellow circles were punched out with a circle punch from a sheet in the collection as well.

For my tittle I used Dear Lizzy Snapshots Thickers and Gold thin Thickers. I used the Amy Tangerine Memento thickers add the “30” in the top cluster.  I finished it off with some black Basic Grey enamel dots.

This was such a fun Sketch to follow. I truly love how my layout turned out!

I hope you’ll join us on the Sketch N Scrap Blog for special events happening in the month of March! If you play along you’ll be entered to win a fun prize.

Thanks so much for stopping by! XOXO -Katty

Sketch N Scrap DT Layout Sketch #99

Hello Friends, I hope your week is of to a great start. I am back with another layout for the Sketch N Scrap Blog Design Team. Today’s sketch is by Mandy Reedyk.

I am having a lot of fun working with the Crate Paper Hello Love Collection and I knew I wanted to use it on this layout. I always look forward to sketches with more than one photo so this was great. I am scrapbooking 2 very similar pictures of my boys taken in 2010. They were headed to a Valentine’s Day Party at their Daycare center. All of the papers I used were from the Hello Love Paper Pad with the exception of black cardstock.  The Happy Valentines Day Sentiment Sticker is from an old American Crafts Sticker sheet, I backed that with 2 layers of velum.

I brought in some red mulberry paper that has been in my stash for about 10 years, so that was fun to finally use up.

To finish it off I added a few puffy hearts from a Walmart puffy sticker sheet and a few strips of black corrugated paper.

Make sure you check out the Sketch N Scrap Blog for tons of inspiration.

Sketch N Scrap DT Card Sketch #67

This months first card sketch is #67 by the very talented Mandy Reedyk. The first thing that caught my eye was the vertical design of this sketch. I was also really drawn to the cluster of circles vertically lined up on one side of the card. This design is very pleasing to the eye. I was very excited to create my card.

This sketch was perfect for a Valentines Day Card. For this card I wanted to create a fun, non traditional Valentines Day Card. I began with black recollections cardstock as my base. I used a Momenta Chevron embossing folder to create some texture on the front layer of my card. I then took a scallop circle punch and punched out two circles which I made into shaker pockets. I then filled those pockets with fuchsia and gold sequins. I added a few additional circles that I punched out of black cardstock as well as velum. I brought in some more gold with the Studio Calico Gold Doilies and the chevron circles I punched out of a sheet from a DCVW Gold Foiled Velum 6×6 Pad. I stamped a few hearts in different sizes on the velum paper using Memento Dew Drop Ink pad in Lilac Posies.  I used the same ink and a wooden block stamp to stamp my sentiment. I them fussy cut the bigger hearts and my sentiment. For the smaller hearts I used a small heart punch. As a finishing touch I took a white gelly roll pen and a black thin point sharpie pen and created faux stitching lines around the hearts and one of the circles.

I am very happy with how my card turned out. I’m pretty sure that this is the card I will give to my boyfriend this Valentines Day. Sketch N Scrap DT Layout Sketch #97

My first layout sketch for the Sketch N Scrap Blog Design Team is Sketch #97 by Kelly Holifield. I love this sketch. You can very easily use a 4 X 6 or a 5 X 7 photo with this sketch. I chose to use a 5 X 7 photo from my 2015 Summer Vacation. The photo was taken using my Selfie Stick on the second day of our Cruise which made a stop in St. Thomas. I knew I wanted to use fun colors and patterns for this layout so I went with one of my favorite collections, the Dear Lizzy Serendipity Paper Pad.

I layered several different patterns and backed them all with Recollections Navy Blue Cardstock which I purchase at my local Michaels. Unfortunately I don’t have any coordinating embellishments for the Serendipity Collection but I made my own using one of the cut apart sheets that come in the paper pad as well as some ribbon with Navy Blue Anchors from my stash. I also used some random embellishments from my Stash, the Sunglasses Button , Basic Grey Enamel Triangles, and some Jewel Starfish Embellishments which I purchased at Joann Fabrics a while back. For my tittle I used the Amy Tangerine Memento Thickers. I finished it off with some splatters using Lindys Stamp Gang Merci Beaucoup Mint Spray Mist.

This layout was a lot of fun to make. Make sure you check out the Sketch N Scrap Blog for awesome Sketches and tons of Inspiration. There is also a process video for this layout up on my You Tube Channel:

Sketch N Scrap DT Card#65

Hello friends, I am very excited to announce that in 2016 I will continue  as a part of the Sketch N Scrap Blog Design Team. Sketch N Scrap is a Sketch Blog that provides monthly card and layout sketches free of charge. They even host a monthly challenge, any one that plays along with our sketches and links their project to the blog is entered to win a fun prize. There is one winner per month. My first project for this term is Card Sketch# 65 by Kelly Holifield. This sketch is absolutely adorable. Being from Florida I don’t get to use my Winter themed stickers all that often so this card was perfect to use up an adorable Snowman and Snowflakes from a Sticko Christmas Sticker pack and pretty silver Snowflake Paper which I’ve had in my stash for quite some time. I stamped the Believe Sentiment on two layers of velum which I then snipped the edges of and made into a banner. This card was a lot of fun to make. I hope you will all join us and play along with this months sketches. Be sure to also visit & follow the Sketch N Scrap Facebook Group for up to date information, inspiration and fun sketches. Thanks for stopping by. XOXO -Katty
