Halloween 2016-Art Party Friday

12138485_705950913228_347815577822020753_o

Hello everyone! I am sharing this layout I created for The Crafty Maven Getaway. Today is Art Party Friday. I decided to use a mix of the Halloween Mood board and this weeks mood for my layout.

I began with American Crafts White Textured Cardstock. I did not prime my page with Gesso, I usually never do. My inspiration for the layout also came from an older Basic Grey Halloween/Fall chipboard set. I began began by getting a little messy and creating my background. I grabbed a piece of packaging and stared by creating the green color that was in the chipboard set. I mixed two Lyndy’s stamp Gang mists, Ponderosa Pines Olive and My Mojito Green. I then added in some yellow from my inexpensive watercolor set. I also used the Lindy’s Stamp Gang in Red Hot Poker Orange and one of my Shimmerz Vibez in Plum Tuckered Out. I added some splatters in the orange and purple as well as some splatters with black India Ink. I felt like my background was not complete. I took my Ranger Water Color Brush and added some shading with Grey from my inexpensive Michaels Artist Loft Pan set.

I layered a black piece of cardstock behind my photo and I added a few patterned papers from an older Studio Calico 6×6 paper pad. I then used a few of the Basic Grey chipboard pieces including a spooky tree that I just love and an oval frame. I didn’t want to over do it. I wanted the photo and the background to be the main focus. I also added a few bats from the Crate Paper After Dark Glitter Foam Word Thickers.

fullsizerender-37

For my tittle I used Black circle Basic Grey Letter Stickers which are from the B-side Collection. then I used some Glitter Thickers numbers to write out 2016. I used my black India Ink and a brush to color them black. I then scattered around a few Tim Holtz Tiny word stickers and one from a Teresa Collins letter sticker sheet.

fullsizerender-38

As a finishing touch I trimmed off a half inch all around and matted my photo on a Crate Paper black and white patterned paper. I love how my background and layout turned out.

Hello friends! Welcome to another fun Spiegelmom Scraps Blog Hop. Today is the third and final day of our Special Triple Blog Hop weekend. It has been such a fun and inspiring weekend. You should have arrived here from Sara’s Blog, I love her work. She is incredibly talented. Here is the full line up for today:

Rachel Stewart- http://wp.me/p5zmxq-gs
Katty Miranda——You are here

For my layout  I began with American Crafts White Textured Cardstock . I used a Teresa Collins triangle stencil with some Acrylic Gloss Medium. This created a subtle embossed look on my cardstock. I flipped the stencil around and placed the stencil over the Gloss medium background. I made sure to place it over the areas where there were no triangles. I used three of my favorite Shimmerz DazzlerzDreamscicleTutti Frutti and Sea U in the Mornin.

FullSizeRender (73)

I then printed a series of 3 photos of my adorable niece and cut them into triangle shapes. I backed my photos with some mint colored scotch washi tape which I placed on white cardstock as well as a gray and white patterned paper from an old Studio Calico Paper Pad.

FullSizeRender (76)

I added a few embelishments from my stash mainly from the My Minds Eye on Trend Collection. Some of the triangle pieces of ephemera I made into shaker triangles using the new beautiful Mocha Mint Dream Sequins.

FullSizeRender (78)

I also used some ephemera words from the same collection for my tittle. I just added the die cut words to some velum and traced them with a black sharpie pen. I also added a tag from my stash behind it. I added some tangled mint thread in three areas and I finished off my layout with the new thin Chunky Cork Stars and the Chunky Cork Hearts, to half of the hearts I added Gold Stardust Sequins.

For my layout I began with 12×12 American Crafts White Textured Cardstock. I am scrapbooking a photo of my adorable niece being her silly self. I had a thought of an all white layout. I began by creating a fun unique background with a stencil and Gloss Medium. While the gloss medium was wet I sprinkled some of the beautiful Glass Slippers Sequins on top and let them dry with the gloss medium.

FullSizeRender (60)

As a photo mat I used one of the White Lace Paper Doilies and a Large Glassine Bag which I folded on one end so create some texture. I decided to bring some grey, silver and light pink into the mix.

FullSizeRender (61)

I added a few sticker embellishments from my stash which I placed on some fun foam and then fussy cut out. I also scattered around some of the Felt-Fetti Hearts in white and two of the new colors, light and dark grey.

I also added the silver stars from the Alma Mater Sequin Mix and the light Pink ones from the Mocha Mint Dream Sequin Mix. I added my tittle using  a silver word from a Thickers pack and I also used some of the silver arrows and hearts from that pack.

FullSizeRender (62)

I added some silver ink splatters and some detailing with a dark grey American Crafts pen. Finally, I matted the whole layout on a Grey and white Patterned Paper from the Pink Paislee Bella Rouge paper pad.

For my project I created a 12×12 layout. I began with white cardstock and some of my Dylusions paints. I created blocks of color using the colors London Blue, Vibrant Turquoise and Fresh Lime. I also used a Prima checkerboard stencil with the Shimmerz Dazzlerz in Sea U in the Mornin over each of the color blocks. I then trimmed off about 1/2 an inch from each side and matted my whole layout with a 12×12 black and white patterned paper called Elsie from the Maggie Holmes Bloom Collection. I used a sample paint chip which I got at my local home depot which has several shades of turquoise and used that to mat my photo along with some dark grey cardstock. I then took the fun Cloudy Day Felties and colored some with the Dylusions London Blue and some with the Shimmerz Dazzlerz in Sea U in the Mornin. I added those to the top right hand side of the layout.

FullSizeRenderkk

For my tittle I used a mix of the black Pinkfresh Studio Felicity foam thickers and the mini October afternoon letter stickers from the Land and Sea and the Sea and Sails collections.

FullSizeRender99

I added a couple of black chipboard stickers from MAMBI to the bottom right of my photo. My goal for the next few months is to use up my wood veneer. I picked out three Bycicles and 2 potty people from Studio Calico and painted them using the Dylusions paint in Vibrant turquoise and Fresh Lime. I also added an Arrow and painted that with London Blue.

FullSizeRender3

As a finishing touch I used black india ink to crate splatters in two areas of the layout and added some Basic Grey enamel dots as well as some of the blue sequins from Rasberry Daisy Dream Sequin Mix. This was a lot of fun to create.

Sketch N Scrap Layout Sketch #105

IMG_3658

Hello friends. I am back with a Sketch N Scrap Design Team layout. This months awesome sketch it by Kelly Holifield. I chose to Scrapbook two photos of my two kitties. They love to get into trouble. On this day they climbed up on a big tool shed that we have in the yard. They had such a hard time getting down. That is why I chose to tittle my layout Mischievous. They love getting into trouble.

12733378_681692068640150_4001889351054117426_n (1)

I began with several patterned paper from the Dear Lizzy Documentary Collection. I am trying to kill this collection. The sketch calls for three vertical patterned paper strips in the back. I used four and even added a branding strip to the right. I matted my two photos on black and teal cardstock from my stash. To recreate those big flowers I used a Heidi Swapp Flower Stencil and some Heidi Swapp art screen ink in White. I also added a fuchsia sequin to the center of each flower. The sequins are from the Fairy tale Mix from Spiegelmom Scraps. I also punched out two Monarch butterflies with a Martha Stewart punch.

For my tittle area I used a piece of patterned paper from the same collection and added my tittle using some fuchsia letter stickers from Colorbok.

Pretty Patterned Paper Playground April 2016

Hello friends. As the month of April comes to an end I want to share the layouts Evi & I created for our Pretty Patterned Paper Playground Series for the month of April. Here is the lovely mood board we followed this month.

IMG_4540

For our third episode in the series and the first for the month Evi and I scrapped together. Once again, we challenged ourselves to complete our layout in 15 minutes. We went a bit over 15 minutes, LOL. We still did pretty well. You can check out the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdN9g8ZpQxA

These are the layouts we created. On the left is Evi’s on the right is mine.

For our fourth episode we followed a challenge. Our challenge was to scraplift each other.

Check out My video on Evi’s Channel and Evi’s Video on my channel. Here are the layouts we created.

Pretty Patterned Paper Playground March 2016

Hello friends! I know I am a bit late in posting this however I wanted to share with you all how The Pretty Patterned Paper Playground or P4 for short, came to be. My new friend Evi and I, who met through YouTube, recently discovered that we both live in Florida and pretty darn close too. I invited Evi to join me at a crop some friends were hosting. We immediately hit it off.  We had an awesome time and even did a little scrappy shopping together after the crop at a nearby Tuesday Morning.

hFullSizeRender

We discussed the option of scrapping to together and thought it would make for a fun You Tube series.

We met up shortly after that for a nice lunch date at Perricone’s here in Downtown Miami. We discussed the details and that is where The  Pretty Patterned Paper Playground was born.

JFullSizeRender.jpg

We decided we would post twice a month, once scrapbooking together and once separate. Each month we will follow a mood board Evi & I put together and we will also have a challenge. Here is our first ever mood board for the month of March 2016

12768381_233535553659077_8250449312118133777_o

When we scrap together we will set a timer for 15 minutes and try our best to complete our layout in that time. We will also create our own Pretty Patterned Paper. Using Mixed Media and various techniques. The top two photos below are the layouts we created when we scrapped together. The one on the left is Evi’s and the one on the right is mine. As a fun twist we decided to scrap the same photo(notice it’s the photo from our lunch date.) You can find the process video of Evi and I scrapping together here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NtJeRGPvFc

IMG_5833

For our second video where we scrap separately we will always have a different challenge. For the month of March we decided to scraplift the very talented Missy Whidden. Evi and I are huge fans. The two photos above with the vertical circle clusters are our interpretations of Missy’s beautiful layout. The one on the left is Evi’s and on the right is mine. We deviated a bit from our mood board but I think we both did a great job of recreating Missy’s idea. We thought it would be fun to post our videos on each others channels.

You can find Evi’s video on my channel here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGB805zUmWw

You can find my video on Evi’s channel here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUp_y7-y5RM

We started a Facebook Group, also called Pretty Patterned Paper Playground. We created it so that we could share the layouts we create and hopefully inspire our crafty friends to play along with our challenges or to simply create. Our group is a fun, interactive place for crafty friends to gather and share our work with each other. No need to follow our mood board or our challenge, we just want to see what you are creating and want to be inspired by you. I hope you will join us on YouTube as well as on Facebook so that you don’t miss out on any of the fun.

Thanks so much for stopping by! XOXO -Katty

For today’s project I created a fun 12×12 Layout inspired by this months mood board on a Facebook Group my friend Evi And I created The Pretty Patterned Paper Playground.

IMG_4297

I was able to use so many fun products from the Spiegelmom Scraps Shop on this layout! I began by using my Michaels watercolors to add some color the Mini Wood Clothespins from the shop. My idea was to create 3 big flowers using the clothespins. I did lay them on their side so that they’d be a bit less dimensional. I used a dark pink, coral and orange color. I picked the colors based on some of the sequin mixes from the shop. My next step was to take 3 White Lace Paper Doilies. I used the doilies as a stencil and used my watercolors over them to create a pretty doily pattern in the three colors I chose. I then placed the clothespins over the doily pattern and adhered them with glue dots. I wanted to add some sparkle with some lovely sequins from the Spiegelmom Scraps Shop. On the Orange “flower” I used the Indian Summer Sequins. On the dark pink “flower” I used the Fairytale 2 Sequins and on the Coral one I used the Peachy Sherbet Sequins. In the center of all my “flowers” I added 5 yellow sequins from the Believe in You Sequins and in the very center a grey sequin from the Mint Chip Sequins. I then added some leaves with a Heidi Swapp Stencil and the awesome Shimmerz Dazzlerz in Sour Apple.

To finish it off I added a few simple embellishments. I added one of the White Lace Paper Doilies that I had previously colored. I also added three of the Cork Chevrons and a “Beautiful” Wood veneer rectangle from the Shimelle True Stories Wood Veneer. To complete my tittle I used some gold Maggie Holmes typewriter font alphas and sprinkled some Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine. I used 2 sheets of patterned paper from the Heidi Swapp Hello Today paper pad. A yellow polka dot to mat my photo and a diagonal rainbow strip to add a border to my whole page.

It is always such fun to play with the Spiegelmom Scraps Shop products. Here is my finished layout.
