2016 in Review: Pretty Patterned Paper Playground

Hello friends! I can’t believe 2016 is gone. Can you? It seems like only yesterday I was celebrating New Years 2016. One of the most exciting things that happened this past year was the commencement of my YouTube series with Evi, Pretty Patterned Paper Playground. Evi and I get together every month and scrapbook together, we then post our videos to both of our YouTube channels. Every month we have a mood board we follow and some months we had challenges as well. Evi and I met late 2015 through YouTube. We became instant friends. Over this past year we have grown even closer. It has been such fun scrapbooking with her and getting to know her. We created a Facebook Group called Pretty Patterned Paper Playground so that our friends and followers could join us and play along with our monthly mood boards. It was an awesome year. Here is an overview of our mood boards and what I created this past year for our series. I’ll  link some of the related products under each month.fullsizerender3

March 2016- Our very first month. We were so excited to get started. Our mood board was very Spring appropriate. I had a lot of fun creating it. We scrapped together for the first time. We had a lot of fun! We decided we’d create a second layout a month but we would post on each others channels. Evi posted her video on my channel, I posted my video on hers. We challenged ourselves to scraplift an awesome layout by Missy Whidden.

Mojo Busters: A Scrapbooking Series-Episode 2

Silhouette CameoHello Friends! Welcome back to the second week of Mojo Busters! My Scrappy friends and I have gotten together to create a series which will hopefully provide some inspiration for you when you need it.

This week we are working on Hannah’s challenge. Her challenge is to use a photo as inspiration. In my case, brand new photos, meaning photos recently taken, are my favorite to scrap. Sometimes, I come across an older photo and inspiration strikes. A photo can also inspire you to use things in your stash. Sometimes the colors in a photo can remind us of a specific collection or embellishment we own.

For this challenge I am using a photo of my grandparents. It was taken back in 1956. My mom came across this photo a few weeks ago. My grandparents have both passed and I miss them very much, it only made sense to add photos of them to my albums. I made a copy of the photo, printed it in black and white and got started.

For some reason this photo made me think of of the Love Always collection by Cocoa Vanilla. I used my silhouette cameo to cut out a beautiful heart cut file available  for download from Bea Valint’s Blog. I nestled my photo in between two loops in the heart cut file.

I then created clusters of flowers underneath the photo and the heart. I also incorporated some leaf cut files which I had sitting on my desk. I had cut both the heart and the leaves  on White American Crafts Textured Cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo.

For my tittle, I used some letter wood veneers from my stash and painted them a light grey with some watercolors. I also used the word Love from the Cocoa Vanilla Ephemera Pack.

I love how this turned out. It came together very quickly. The picture really did inspire me. it inspired the feel of my layout as well as the products I used.
